Lurgan House bed and breakfast is just a couple of minutes walk from Westport town centre. Located just off the Louisburgh Road, the house has a dramatic plum wall colour, making it an easy landmark to identify from the main road. The views are the first thing visitors notice – looking right out across Clew Bay as far as Achill Island and Clare Island, or south to the towering peak of Croagh Patrick, Lurgan House grounds are an optimal visitor’s location. Ena invites guests in with complimentary tea/coffee, and is always happy to assist with a bit of local knowledge and advice.
Westport is a very picturesque town full of character and heritage, and has won national and international awards on many occasions. The most recent was Irish Times reader’s, ‘Best Place to Live in Ireland’ and we’re pretty sure it’s the best place in Ireland to holiday as well. The area has so much to offer visitors and often times choosing is the only problem! For example, one can begin a scenic drive in just about any direction, and through the Great Western Green-way serving Newport, Mulranny, Achill and Westport town, Lurgan House is a perfect location for walkers, cyclists and motorists to begin their journey. Then when the evening-time comes, you are still within walking distance of Westport’s finest pubs and restaurants for a perfect night out on the town.
The Quay harbour and the historic Westport House Estate are also accessible via the Green-way, and if you take the coastal drive toward Louisburgh, you can swim, surf or walk along many ‘Blue Flag’ beaches, or be one of over 30,000 yearly visitors that climb Croagh Patrick, Ireland’s premier pilgrimage site since the 6th century.
The multi-award-winning Lurgan House Bed and Breakfast has 4 comfortable, spacious bedrooms from single to king size beds, a guest lounge, free Wi-Fi access and ample secure private parking. Ena offers a choice of delicious breakfasts, all freshly cooked to order, which often appear with favourable comments in the Guest Book. We are happy to recommend local cafes, pubs and restaurants for lunch and evening meals.
